FORMED IN 1953
RULES
ALL THE EXISTING RULES OF THE SOCIETY ARE HEREBY REVOKED, AND THE FOLLOWING RULES STAND IN THEIR PLACE AS OF 25th APRIL 2026.
ALTERATION OF THE RULES –
No alteration, amendment, or addition shall be made by anyone other than the management of the society.
TITLE-
The name of the society shall be
"WILLENHALL CHRYSANTHEMUM SOCIETY”.
OBJECT OF THE SOCIETY-
The object of the society shall be to promote the cultivation of the chrysanthemum by means of SHOWS, SOCIAL MEDIA and EDUCATION.
SHOWS-
The society shall hold shows biannually, 1 Early Show and 1 Late Show.
The society will also hold an ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING to discuss ‘The Report and Statement of Accounts’.
Dates will be decided with respect to the wider chrysanthemum calendar.
These shows will be run under the rules of THE NATIONAL CHRYSANTHEMUM SOCIETY.
MANAGEMENT-
The management of the society shall be vested in the following:
THE PRESIDENT, THE CHAIRMAN, THE VICE-CHAIRMAN
THE TREASURER, THE SECRETARY, THE SHOW SECRETARY
THE SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER AND THE MEMBERS OF THE COMMITTEE.
Management will make and finalise all decisions in the best interests of the society and shall uphold the integrity of the society at all times.
MEMBERSHIP-
The membership cost will be determined at the ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING and may be varied from year to year.
All members shall have their addresses and email addresses stored for contact purposes only.
ONLY fully paid-up members will be entitled to receive the E-Schedule by email.
All members shall receive their schedule by EMAIL; paper copies will only be available at the ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING and SHOWS.
Management of the society may expel from the society any member who refuses to observe the rules. Appeals will be considered, but may not change the ruling.
DISSOLUTION-
In the of event of it being necessary to close the society, management will make the final decision on the distribution of the society's assets.

SHOW REGULATIONS-
1.Entries for the show will be accepted up to 10:45am on the day of the show providing the blooms are present.
2. Exhibitors may make more than one entry in any class and win more than one prize in the class.
3. All entries are accepted on the understanding that the exhibitor accepts the rules of WILLENHALL CHRYSANTHEMUM SOCIETY.
4. Staging will be from 8am-11:30am on the day of the show.
5. Exhibitors who wish to retain their blooms can do so by collecting a ‘not for sale’ card from THE SHOW SECRETARY.
6. All blooms that have not been retained by the means stated above will become property of the society and put up for sale at the end of the show.
7. Vases shall be provided and used with one top and one base per vase. Exhibitors may use their own vases as long as they comply with the general standard of the show and not have any visible marks which could identify the exhibitor.
8. Prize money shall be paid before completion of the show.
9. All fully paid members that would like to take trophies that they have won home must sign the form provided on the day that acknowledges their desire to retain the trophy until the following relative show. Only members may take trophies.
10. All trophies must be returned in good order in time for the corresponding show the following year. The cost of repairing any damage caused to the trophies whilst in possession of the exhibitor will be the responsibility of the exhibitor.
11. Judging will be in accordance with the N. C. S. rules for judging. The NATIONAL REGISTER OF CHRYSANTHEMUMS and the N.C.S. JUDGING MANUAL shall be the standard work of reference in all decisions made.
12. PROTESTS AND OBJECTIONS- The decision of the judges as regards the relative merit of chrysanthemum exhibits is final and no protest on these grounds will be entertained.
13. The organisers accept no responsibility for loss or damage to personal belongings; all items remain the responsibility of the owner.
